How acupuncture works with unexplained infertility

The beauty of acupuncture is that what you experience is always more important than having a diagnosis. So even if you don’t know the root of your fertility challenges, we can start to work on bringing balance back in your body.

During your acupuncture initial assessment, I’ll ask you questions about how things feel in your body to help direct the course of your treatments.

I use Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) acupuncture. It’s a very effective tool for acupuncture support. If you’re up for it, we can chat about nutritional and lifestyle changes you can implement to help increase your chances of conceiving.

Frankly speaking, there’s always a reason at the root of fertility challenges, even if you’ve been told you have unexplained infertility. Fertility clinics usually run a standard panel of tests that look at things that can most easily be corrected with fertility medication. However, it’s not an exhaustive list of things that can impede your fertility.

In addition to acupuncture, my goal is to help you figure out how to continue pursuing answers. I may recommend additional testing, though I can’t write you a requisition for tests. My goal is to help you advocate for yourself when requesting testing from your family doctor or your fertility doctor.

Sometimes, my patients will report that their fertility clinic suggested IVF, but the patients aren’t ready for that. I aim to help equip you with all the information and tools you need in order to proceed with the fertility course of your choice.
